Design Engineer

RESPONSABILITES

·      Product Design: Creating detailed 2D and 3D design models of sheet metal components and assemblies.

·      Material Selection: Choosing appropriate materials based on product requirements and cost considerations.

·      Manufacturing Feasibility: Ensuring designs are compatible with manufacturing processes and equipment.

·      Tolerance Analysis: Defining acceptable tolerances to maintain product quality and functionality.

·      Documentation: Creating detailed engineering drawings and specifications.

·      Prototyping: Developing and testing prototypes to validate designs.

·      Collaboration: Working closely with other departments, such as production, quality, and sales.

·      Cost Optimization: Identifying opportunities to reduce product costs without compromising quality.

·      Staying Updated: Keeping abreast of the latest design software and industry trends.

Background, Training and/or required experience(s) :

·         A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is essential. Advanced degrees like a master’s in mechanical engineering or a related field can be beneficial for senior roles.

·         Expertise in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) is crucial for product design and development. Knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software can be advantageous for complex designs.

·         Certifications in engineering design, product development, or project management can enhance credibility.

·         Proven experience in designing sheet metal components and assemblies.

·         In-depth understanding of sheet metal materials and their properties.

·         Familiarity with sheet metal manufacturing processes (stamping, bending, welding, etc.).

·         Experience in defining and controlling tolerances to ensure product quality.

·         Ability to identify and resolve design challenges.

·         Effective communication and teamwork skills to work with cross-functional teams.

Understanding of sheet metal industry trends and standards.
