city; please confirm the final offer with the employer.Gender: AnyCandidate Nationality: AnyJob Type: Full-time Role Context The Inclusion Assistant - SEN Support role provides targeted assistance for individual pupils and small groups who require additional support to access the curriculum and take part in daily school activities. Working within Al Danah Charter School, the role supports individual education plans, classroom differentiation, therapy-related interventions, pupil supervision, social development, behaviour support, and communication between teaching and inclusion teams. The position plays a practical role in helping students meet IEP goals, develop confidence, strengthen independence, and make steady progress in an inclusive American Curriculum school environment. Key Responsibilities * Provide individual and group support for pupils inside and outside the classroom so they can participate fully in school activities.* Assist with the implementation of individual education programmes linked to each student s IEP goals.* Monitor pupil progress and attainment under the guidance of the Head of Inclusion, homeroom teachers, and subject teachers.* Support students with academic, physical, emotional, communication, social, and behavioural needs.* Prepare differentiated resources and learning materials that help identified students access the curriculum.* Provide individual instruction as directed by the teacher and support group instruction where appropriate.* Demonstrate learning activities, scaffold classroom tasks, and help pupils remain focused during assigned work.* Monitor work set by teachers and support pupils while tasks are in progress, following school policy on checking and correction.* Encourage pupils by praising achievement, reinforcing positive effort, and reporting progress to the teacher.* Promote independence by teaching clear, meaningful strategies that help students organize themselves and manage learning tasks.* Support the development of social skills, communication skills, confidence, self-esteem, and positive peer interaction.* Supervise identified pupils in classrooms, specialist lessons, school activities, trips, visits, ECAs, and other school locations.* Assist homeroom and subject teachers with maintaining accurate pupil records and classroom information.* Build close working relationships with homeroom teachers, subject teachers, inclusion staff, therapists, and school leaders.* Communicate regularly and professionally with teaching teams while maintaining confidentiality at all times.* Respect formal communication boundaries, ensuring the Head of Inclusion and teachers manage official parent communication.* Attend SaLT, OT, or ABA therapy sessions where required and deliver follow-up interventions to help generalize and consolidate target skills.* Participate in behaviour support strategies and promote positive behaviour in line with whole-school policy.* Help develop student self-control, discipline, resilience, confidence, and appropriate classroom conduct.* Be proactive in matters relating to health and safety, safeguarding, student welfare, and school policy compliance.* Attend training sessions, professional meetings, inclusion reviews, and development activities required for the role.* Set a strong example through punctuality, attendance, professional dress, respectful conduct, and positive attitude.* Support the aims, values, code of conduct, health and safety requirements, and wider expectations of the school.* Mentor new Inclusion Assistants when experienced enough, or participate in mentoring as part of professional growth.* Complete additional duties assigned by the Principal or Head of Inclusion as required. Ideal Profile * SEN qualification or Diploma is required.* Previous experience supporting students with additional needs in a school setting is preferred.* Understanding of individual education programmes, IEP goals, classroom differentiation, and inclusion support.* Ability to support pupils with academic, physical, emotional, behavioural, social, and communication needs.* Patient, calm, caring, and respectful approach when working with children who require additional support.* Strong ability to follow teacher guidance while also using initiative in day-to-day classroom situations.* Good communication skills with the ability to work closely with teachers, inclusion teams, therapists, and support staff.* Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect school procedures for parent communication and pupil information.* Positive attitude, flexibility, punctuality, and willingness to support wider school life.* Confidence supervising pupils in classrooms, specialist lessons, ECAs, trips, and school activities.* Awareness of safeguarding, health and safety, child protection, behaviour support, and student wellbeing expectations.* Interest in ongoing professional development, training, and improving inclusion practice.* Genuine appreciation of the values, culture, and expectations of the region.
