OHS OFFICER/ SAFETY OFFICER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement OHS policies and programs
• Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics and practices
• Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations and report any non-conformities
• Practice safe working techniques
• Ensure Adherence of all employees to all the applicable rules and regulations
• Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees' safety
• Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety
• Conduct risk assessments
• Enforce preventative measures
• Identify hazardous waste and disposing of it correctly under direction of safety manager
• Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformities (e.g. not using protective equipment)
• Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc
• Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
• Record and investigate incidents to determine causes
• Regularly inspect equipment and power tools
• Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes in coordination with safety manager

Factory, Production Yards, Storage Areas, Stores & Projects’ sites

Department Managers & Projects’ Managers

QUALIFICATION"

• BSc/BA in safety management or similar field / An associate degree or Equivalent Qualification
• 2-3 years of experience as OHS officer
• Certificate in occupational health and safety
• Excellent knowledge of legislations (e.g. OSHA) and procedures
• Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
• Experience in writing reports for health and safety
• Computer Literacy
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
