Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Electric Forklift Maintenance Engineer responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and commissioning of electric forklifts and material-handling equipment. The role requires strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to provide efficient on-site technical support. The position will focus on maximizing equipment uptime, reducing breakdowns, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high-quality maintenance services to customers or internal operations. These responsibilities are consistent with current forklift service-engineer roles in Egypt, which emphasize preventive maintenance, fault tracing, commissioning, service reporting, and customer support. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive and corrective maintenance for electric forklifts and material-handling equipment.Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and control-system faults.Inspect batteries, chargers, motors, controllers, contactors, sensors, wiring, braking systems, steering systems, lifting systems, and other forklift components.Conduct regular inspections and identify potential failures before they lead to equipment downtime.Perform fault tracing, repairs, component replacement, and equipment adjustments.Use appropriate diagnostic tools, electrical testing equipment, and technical manuals to identify root causes.Carry out commissioning and re-commissioning of new or repaired forklifts when required.Respond to breakdowns and service calls within agreed service timelines.Perform on-site maintenance at customer locations when required.Prepare accurate maintenance and service reports, including diagnosis, work performed, replaced parts, and recommendations.Coordinate with the spare-parts team to ensure required components are available and used efficiently.Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment history.Identify recurring failures and recommend corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company HSE and safety procedures.Maintain and properly use company tools, diagnostic equipment, vehicles, and other assigned assets.Provide technical guidance to technicians and operators when required.Communicate professionally with customers and ensure customer satisfaction after each service visit.Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and maintenance costs.Job RequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.2–5 years of experience in forklift, material-handling equipment, industrial equipment, or similar maintenance roles; direct electric-forklift experience is highly preferred.Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic systems.Good understanding of electric motors, batteries, chargers, controllers, sensors, contactors, and electrical circuits.Good mechanical knowledge, particularly related to forklifts and industrial equipment.Knowledge of hydraulic systems, steering, braking, and lifting mechanisms is an advantage.Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams, hydraulic diagrams, and technical manuals.Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills.Experience using multimeters and other electrical/diagnostic tools.Good knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.Good command of English, especially technical English.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Good planning, organization, and time-management skills.Ability to work independently and under pressure.Willingness to travel to customer sites when required.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience with electric forklifts or warehouse/material-handling equipment.Experience with brands such as Toyota, Jungheinrich, Linde, Hyster-Yale, STILL, Crown, or similar equipment.Knowledge of forklift controllers and electronic diagnostic systems.Experience with lithium-ion and lead-acid forklift batteries and charging systems.OEM technical training or certification is a plus.Knowledge of PLCs or CAN-bus-based equipment diagnostics is an advantage.HSE / electrical safety training is preferred.Key CompetenciesTechnical TroubleshootingElectrical & Mechanical MaintenancePreventive MaintenanceRoot Cause AnalysisProblem SolvingCustomer FocusAttention to DetailTime ManagementTeamworkCommunication SkillsSafety AwarenessAbility to Work Under PressureKPIsForklift equipment uptimeBreakdown response timeMean Time to Repair (MTTR)Repeat breakdown ratePreventive maintenance completion rateFirst-time fix rateCustomer satisfactionMaintenance cost per forkliftAccuracy and timeliness of service reports
