It is about shaping a story, communicating an idea clearly, and creating content that keeps people interested. You will be responsible for transforming raw footage into engaging, high-quality short-form videos that educate, inspire, and encourage community participation. Every editing decision should support the message of the video and improve the viewer’s experience. This role is suitable for someone who enjoys creating purposeful content, refining details, and finding creative ways to make videos more effective without making them feel unnecessarily complicated or overproduced. Responsibilities Edit short-form videos for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other social-media platforms.Turn raw footage into clear, engaging, and well-structured visual stories.Create strong pacing, rhythm, and visual flow that maintain viewer attention.Select the most suitable footage and remove unnecessary material.Add captions, subtitles, titles, motion graphics, music, sound effects, and simple animations when appropriate.Ensure that every visual or audio element contributes to the message of the video.Apply basic color correction and improve audio quality when required.Create thumbnails, cover images, or simple supporting graphics when needed.Export videos using the correct dimensions, formats, and settings for each platform.Organize footage, project files, audio, and completed videos efficiently.Maintain an accessible and well-structured video library.Collaborate with the content writer and graphic designer to ensure visual and brand consistency.Apply feedback accurately and complete revisions within agreed timelines.Suggest improvements that strengthen storytelling, clarity, and audience engagement.Requirements Strong practical video-editing skills.Experience using professional editing tools.A strong understanding of storytelling through editing.Good knowledge of pacing, rhythm, viewer retention, and narrative structure.Ability to select footage that supports the purpose and tone of the video.Good typography, subtitle design, and on-screen text placement.Basic knowledge of color correction, audio balancing, and sound design.Familiarity with current short-form video formats and social-media best practices.Ability to manage files and projects in an organized manner.Strong attention to detail and quality control.Ability to meet deadlines and manage revisions efficiently.Comfortable receiving constructive feedback and applying it professionally.Working Hours This is a remote, part-time position requiring three working hours per day. Specific working times and communication expectations will be agreed upon with the selected candidate. During working hours, the editor should be available for assigned tasks, communication, feedback, and revisions. Flexibility The role has clearly defined responsibilities; however, priorities may change as projects develop. The selected candidate should be adaptable and willing to support related video-editing and visual-content tasks during their assigned working hours. Any additional responsibilities will remain reasonably connected to the candidate’s expertise and the requirements of the role. Recruitment ProcessPhase One: Application and Portfolio Review Candidates submit their CV, portfolio, and editing-tool proficiency levels.This stage helps us understand their current experience, skills, and editing style. Phase Two: Practical Assessment Shortlisted candidates complete a brief editing task using footage provided by us.This allows us to see how they apply their skills to our content and direction. Phase Three: Interview Selected candidates meet with us for a final conversation.The interview helps us understand who they are, how they work, and whether they fit the role and team.
