This role supports Al Qurm Charter School by assisting the Human Resources Officer and ensuring smooth People and Culture operations within Aldar Education s growing school network. Job Details Country: United Arab EmiratesCity: Abu DhabiIndustry: EducationFunction: Human ResourcesEstimated salary range based on similar jobs in the job city; please confirm the final offer with the employer.Gender: AnyCandidate Nationality: AnyJob Type: Full-time Role Context The People and Culture Assistant will provide day-to-day HR support across recruitment, onboarding, employee documentation, HR databases, staff records, government-related processes, time and attendance, health insurance, performance review coordination, and exit procedures. The role requires accuracy, confidentiality, strong follow-up, and the ability to work with school teams, HQ functions, public relations teams, payroll, and government-related processes. The successful candidate will support a professional, compliant, and people-focused HR service within a child-centred school environment in Abu Dhabi. Key Responsibilities * Provide support to the Human Resources Officer across HR-related tasks, employee requests, and school people operations.* Assist with recruitment processes including application screening, interview scheduling, candidate coordination, and assessment arrangements.* Support onboarding for new employees by ensuring required documents, access, information, and joining requirements are completed.* Manage pre-employment communication so new starters understand role requirements and UAE working and living procedures.* Support visa processing and ADEK pass applications in coordination with relevant school, HQ, and government relations teams.* Maintain, update, and ensure accuracy of employee files stored in EDMS and the HR Master Database.* Keep confidential employment records and staff files accurate, complete, and up to date at school level.* Maintain HR systems and ensure records accurately reflect staffing information within the school.* Assist in coordinating performance appraisals, probation reviews, and related follow-up with staff and line managers.* Track training and professional development opportunities and maintain accurate CPD records.* Coordinate health insurance applications, renewals, cancellations, and related staff insurance administration.* Work with the HQ Public Relations team on health insurance and staff documentation requirements.* Manage and report staff time and attendance, including use and maintenance of time and attendance systems.* Process exiting staff as leavers and ensure all exit procedures are completed accurately.* Liaise with HQ Payroll regarding full and final settlement calculations for leavers.* Support housing closeout procedures and related staff exit documentation when required.* Follow up diligently on pending HR tasks to ensure timely completion and compliance.* Support local government compliance matters through forward planning and accurate documentation.* Handle sensitive employee information with discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.* Work collaboratively with school leaders, HR teams, public relations teams, payroll, and other stakeholders.* Contribute to a positive People and Culture service that supports employee experience and school operations.* Uphold safeguarding expectations, school policies, professional conduct, and Aldar Education values at all times. Ideal Profile * Minimum diploma or degree in higher education.* Graduate-level qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related functional area is preferred.* Minimum 2 years of experience in HR or recruitment in any industry.* One year of generalist HR experience within a service-related industry may also be considered.* Previous experience in school HR, education HR, or service-sector HR is an advantage.* Competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and common HR or office systems.* Experience using EDMS, HR databases, attendance systems, or employee record platforms is preferred.* Working knowledge of UAE government processes, immigration requirements, HAAD requirements, and compliance procedures is desirable.* Experience liaising with government bodies in the UAE is an advantage.* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple HR tasks.* High attention to detail with diligent follow-up and timely execution.* Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure in a busy school environment.* Strong written and oral English communication skills.* Arabic language proficiency is desirable.* Professional, confidential, reliable, and service-focused approach to employee support.* Ability to plan ahead, especially for local government compliance and documentation deadlines.* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff, school leaders, HQ teams, and external stakeholders.* Genuine understanding and appreciation of the culture and values of the region.
