Job Overview A leading industrial organization in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is seeking an experienced Senior Technician – Electrical Maintenance to join its maintenance team. Key Responsibilities As a Senior Technician – Electrical Maintenance, your responsibilities will include: Perform electrical maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment and machinery. Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime. Maintain electrical systems including low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) motors, switchboards, motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, UPS systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), breakers, soft starters, and plant lighting. Carry out preventive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance activities according to maintenance plans. Diagnose electrical faults, identify root causes, and implement effective repair solutions. Repair or replace damaged electrical components and verify equipment performance after maintenance. Read and interpret electrical drawings, technical manuals, and engineering documentation. Select the appropriate tools, spare parts, and equipment required for maintenance work. Use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), such as SAP, to record maintenance activities and request spare parts. Monitor recurring equipment failures and recommend improvements to increase equipment reliability. Support root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives. Train and guide junior technicians and contractors on maintenance procedures and workplace safety. Lead assigned maintenance activities under the direction of supervisors. Maintain clean and safe work areas while following company safety procedures. Support operational excellence programs including 5S, safety initiatives, and equipment performance improvements. Assist other departments with technical expertise whenever required. Required Qualifications Applicants should have: Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline. Completion of recognized electrical craft or technical training. Additional industrial maintenance certifications are an advantage. Experience Required Minimum 5 years of electrical maintenance experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment after completing a diploma. At least 2 years of practical experience working as an electrician after technical craft training. Experience with industrial electrical systems, motors, switchgear, and plant maintenance is preferred. Required Skills Successful candidates should possess: Industrial electrical maintenance expertise. Electrical installation and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of LV and MV electrical systems. Preventive and predictive maintenance techniques. Familiarity with transformers, MCCs, UPS systems, VFDs, breakers, and soft starters. Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings. Experience using SAP or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Good communication skills in English.
